An unknown to probably 98% of you on AFF... but the first Pastor my husband and I worked under. Bro. Gerald Perkins.

A kinder man I've never known personally. The only time I ever saw him riled was when he thought someone was hurting or leading one of his sheep astray.
He would go to the hospital to visit anyone in the community who was sick... whether they were a member of his church or not.
He was so longsuffering to his sheep that we often wondered if he were too soft!

He was not a great orator... he didn't have the deepest most profound sermons I had ever heard... but his messages were from the heart and from the Word.

He loved everyone.. whether he agreed with them or not and prayed for those he disagreed with.

He wasn't perfect by any means, but he was the best pastor you could have asked for. Because he loved us. He had a great sense of humor, I can still remember the way his shoulders would go up and down when he laughed.

He died of a heart attack at age 58... probably his love for Wendy's food had something to do with that.. but also he never stopped, from morning till night. And I know he basically worked himself to death for the Kingdom.

I don't know anyone who didn't like him... even when they didn't agree with him.
I miss him somedays... and look forward to seeing him again.

you are right and he was idolized by all of Pentecost. I've wondered if that contributed to his down fall.

He was one the most anointed speakers I know of but I wouldn't consider him "Great" especially in light of what all has gone down in the most recent years.

My favorite would be Tom Barnes...he was a man that knew God and heard from Him. YET he would take the time to talk to a nobody like me.

Harry Haygood...a very Christ like man of God. Had a shepherds heart. Went before his time.

Those still living.

James Kilgore...a very Christ like man. Strong in convictions gentle spirit.

TF Tenny...a man those knows the Word and has many one liners you just can't beat.

C. M. Becton...another gentle giant. Love to hear him play the piano as well.

Jason Scisoe...a man that understands spiritual things.

Merrill Ewing...a gentle giant of a man. Can preach and sing like no other.

Steve Willioughby...not ashamed to dance before the Lord. I love to watch him and Barbara worship.

Nona Freeman...a true woman of God. Real without pretentions.

Vesta Mangun...a firebrand, of prayer.

G. A. Mangun...oh to be able to sit and listen to him teach!

Anthony Mangun...the best of his Dad and Mom with his own flair.

Lee Stoneking...I love to hear him preach and he has a hunger for the supernatural things of God, as I do.

Billy Cole...another man that understands spiritual things.

J T Pugh...always preaches a mighty message. Easy to listen too.

Janice Sjostrand...has a deeper understanding of the Word than many give her credit for.

Thetus Tenny...a woman of prayer. I love to hear her testimonies of the miracles of God.

I am sure I have forgotten many I really love, but the memory isn't what it use to be.
