He's not afraid to be real, to confess his weaknesses to a man younger than him, and ask for prayer.......what an awesome man of God, in my opinion.
Michael, you are so right. There are few men who can impact a congregation like he does. I love brother Trapani.

Thank you.

"Buddy" stuck but I always called him "Arlen."

Did you know that our own "Big-Larry used to be the Song Leader there 25 or more years ago?

It is a stand out.

I also remember a School of Missions service he preahed "If the Gospel be hid". If that wont make you want to find a person to bring to christ, you cant be moved.

I remember when we elected him "Pastor Emeritus". We couldnt find him anywhere when the service started. Eventually they found him hiding in one of the back offices! He had to be talked into even coming into the service!
He just kept saying "You good people need to find someone worthy of this honor".

I never knew of a preacher so reluctant to get up before his peers yet so covetted. All my life I heard him refered to as "A pastors, Pastor".

It has been around 20 years since he passed away and you still hear "Papa George used to say" any time you are around DeRidder, or anywhere one of his "boys" is.
Ferd, I've met many men and have sat around tables of fellowship with some Pentecostal icons. Of all the men that I've met, fellowshipped with and shared pulpits with that one name - George Glass Sr. - stands out as one of the names I'll regret not being able to spend time with.

He was seeminly respected by so many. And, though I never met him, who could forget "Would You Want Jesus For Your Pastor"? What a message. Probably not 10 men would preach a message like that today... all the while keeping a great spirit.

I agree that he was 'the man' as far as a preacher in his day. I mainly referred to men who I still have a great level of admiration and respect for... but he was, absolutely, a preaching machine in the day.

I've always wondered about his father, S. R., and if he was the quality of 'preacher' that Mark was.
