I don't see the difference in a man shaving his chest, than shaving his face... most do it because they think that they are buff, and they don't want to hide it. I guess men do the same thing on their faces.. Abe Lincon had a ugly face and wanted to hide it...

Yes, but a lot of guys who are so body (and hair) conscious are not that type.
There's so much emphasis on all this today and naturally, people have a tendency to follow trends.
