I don't have the traditional Pentecostal look most of the time, but people have asked me what church I attend or tell me they can tell I'm a Christian. I think the smile I wear and the attitude I portray does more good than what articles of clothing I have on.
Now I wait for someone to ask if I feel the same in wearing a bikini or some other nonsense.

Shorn is the past participle of shear. When a sheep is sheared, his hair isn't simply cut, it's cut completely off. Shorn is the total removal of hair just short of shaving it.

I don't see how wearing a ring that signify's something can be a sin - rings were used for this purpose throughout the Bible. But I do think that if I wear a ring, necklace, earrings, etc.... just because it is pretty and and I like the way it makes me look and feel then it is a sin - because the Bible talks about adorning yourself in gold, silver and costly array. And I like pretty and nice clothes just like most ladies but I think you can cross a line there also if it is too flashy or covered in shiney sparklie things. MODERATION!!!!!!
Can I ask, why do people think that Paul was speaking against gold, hair, and costly array, as well as the putting on of apparel (which, for some reason, never gets preached, even though it's in the same verse)? Paul never preached against those things, he just said we shouldn't be known for those things. I completely agree!

I used to also believe that because I was looking up the English word as it's written, but found out that it's better to go back to the original word and get the true meaning. I use a Strong's lexicon for that, and I've learned a lot!
