I remember one time when I had been up very late studying the bible. And my wife had also been up very late right along with me, which almost never happens.
So when we finally went to bed I told my wife, pastor so and so is going to want to know where we were Sunday morning, so I'm going to name this bed Oklahama (we have family there and the pastor knew it).
Sure enough when we walked in the door Sunday night here came the Pastor. Where were yall this morning he asked? I said "Oh we were in Oklahoma."
Not right.

Here's another...I had to feed my Aunts dog all week and pick up her mail and it''s just been to much on me this week. ( the aunt lives right next door)
As a courtesy and out of respect, I believe a pastor should be notified when a member is going to miss church. However, I don't believe specific details should be required or demanded. If the member offers an explanation it should be voluntary.
Likewise, pastors should inform their members, not just the board or a select few, when they are going to miss church OR be unavailable to members. Again, I don't believe specifics should be required or demanded.
IMO, when specifics are required or demanded, there are trust issues to be addressed.
I think so too.....but I also think the Pastor should reciprocate and let the church know when he is gonna be gone too

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Well, as a church secretary, there have been multiple occasions when I wished people weren't quite so specific in their reasons why they aren't going to be in church, or what was the exact reason for the prayer request.
Sometimes the best thing is just to say "I'm sick".

Nope not a saint bashing. Just something for a change of pace.
I know Pastors that are gone more than they are at home.

LOL.....for real! I have employees that will give me graphic details as to why they can't come to work - - just say your sick and stay home!!!
