Re: Now I've heard it all
I guess I also don't understand the mentality that one doesn't have to tell the Pastor anything, that our walk with God is between us and God, we don't need a Pastor/Preacher telling us what's what, we can seek out our own salvation, and on and on. . .why do you suppose God appointed the positions of pastors/preachers if no one needed them? Why does God call men to these positions if we can all just manage on our own?
I've never understood that. Yes, some things are between us and God, but I thank God EVERYDAY for my Pastor. He is someone I go to when I need guidance, advice and sometimes encouragement. He has helped me in ways I can't begin to express. He cares about me, the saints, the church. . .when we go through something, he's there to listen, to pray, to do what he can. God help me the day I think I no longer need a Pastor. (don't shoot me, just expressing my opinion!)
