Re: Stimulus Checks Going Out Early

Hmmmmm....what to do with the money? So many options....

Pay off some of the medical bills? Pay to get the car out of the shop? Get that dental work that I have been putting off?

Actually I guess the most pressing is the that I need new glasses. I have been getting squintier and squintier for the past year, and it's been 4 since I have had new glasses. I have horrible eyesight and usually need new glasses at least every 2 years.

It's really sad when good vision is a luxury!

I am so glad you posted that. Lol, I'm gonna make them regret not putting the cap on the number of kids you can get the extra 300 for, I have 6!

Was starting to wonder since I have a very low last two digits, figured I would get ours in the first batch. Thanks again!!

Re: Stimulus Checks Going Out Early

I don't have mine yet, but could sure use it. What ticks me off is that the government doesn't consider my oldest to be a dependent child anymore... they have absolutely no clue.. she is still in school... still not working.. still a headache... lol No tax credit for her.. bummer. She turned 18 in February... now if I could just get her to work. *sigh*

It is good to know I will get it tomorrow.... that is great.

I think you can still claim her as a dependent as long as she is still in school and living with you.

yes, she is a dependent, but I can't claim her as a tax credit.. I lost her this past Tax year because when they turn 17, they don't qualify for the tax credit... and to top it all off.. this June, my middle daughter turns 17 and I will lose the tax credit on her this next tax filing... and she will have two more years of High School left... and the same thing for my youngest... she will not graduate High School until she is 20..

Indiana had for a while a crazy thing if you weren't 5 before June, you couldn't go to school in the fall... you had to wait until the following year. Then in the middle of our crazy life, I have held each of them back a year of school..so my kids are older for their grades.

You don't think much of it when they are young...but wow, now I wish I hadn't done it. They weren't retained by the school, but by me.. I didn't think they were ready to go on. Oh well, live and learn.

However, that means that I don't get tax credits for them, yet will still be supporting them through High School. Isn't fair in my opinion..
