I am not licenced UPC, I attend a UPC. I am not licensed with UPC because of two issues, 1 is I will not sign an affirmation statement if it is not true. So as for my ministry I am independent apostolic. As for knowing much about TV, as my pastor says "i ain't always been saved", also i came out of trinitarian baptist/catholic/charismatic household, and my wifes family is basically non religious, so at Christmas, Thanksgiving, other get togethers I see some of the stuff they watch.
Before I got in church I watched everything. Also, FYI for anyone who wonders, I never had a conviction about the TV, bu when I first recieved the Holy ghost, God changed my viewing habits. Things that I had loved to watch, i had no pleasure in them becuase of their objectionable content. I did not need a man to tell me this or that. I think when we watch TV, or read a book, article, etc. We should be sensative to the spirit and the Word. what ever happened to "if there be anything good, pure, lovely, etc. think on these things."
What good thing can come out of watching extremely prevocative dressed people shake their rear ends, and reenact dirty dancing! I got started now, THIS is why we are only surviving, but not necessarily thriving as a movement and a people, we have lost conviction, we reason everything away, and we are more concerned with what we want to do and watch and where to go eat after church, than concern ourselves with real commitment filled lives, fasting for God to shake our cities, and use us mightily.
We've got the apostolic gospel, the power of the name, all the promises that Jesus said would follow those who belive, and we as a people are in general sitting down on those things.
