Incidentally, before I showed you the scriptures I was paraphrasing, it was offensive to you that I would say such a horrible thing about God: that He killed children to prove that He was powerful and to make a name for Himself. Now that you see that the Bible itself says that very thing, is the Bible offensive to you?
I'm not sure I would interpret it that way...but I'll think about it and let you know
I thought you were Mich! I just didn't want to put my foot in my mouth if I was wrong (which, as you well know, is extremely rare! lol)
Besides these here issues of cosmic importance, I hope you are doing well?
Somehow I am just not able to hide myself....the flippant sarcasm always seems to give me away
I wish I could say that I was doing well, actually I would settle for OK! It's been a rough year, but I am surviving, which when all is said in done is not too shabby.

They might not say that outright, it's usually in the form of..."now we see through a glass darkly..." or "you just have to faith.." "Or you don't have to trust or understand God to follow him...."
I understand that we are never going to understand everything, and I also get that at some point we have to cross the line into faith. But apparently where I draw the line is different than others. It's very important to me that I determine that God is good and trustworthy and worth following before I actually do so. Not to mention that I need to determine what is actually God, and what is mankinds perception of Him.
I used to think that once I got there, once I had the answers to those questions (a foundation), that then I would be ready to begin my spiritual journey. But I am coming to see that maybe the quest for those answers is the journey.

Mich,
Look back and read what you have written. There is so much truth there:
1. We ALL see thorugh a glass darkly.
2. Your personal relationship to God is what is important.
3. If you cannot trust men, you can trust God and look to His word.
4. He hath began a good work in you has promised to complete it.
You remind me of my little brother. He uses sarcasm to communicate but in that sarcasm are hurts, pain, but also promise and truth. Activate your Faith. We are all born with a measure of it...look back and count the many things God has done and that measure of faith will grow.
God has not forgotten about you. He sees and feels everything you are going through. He is holding you up when you have no strength - I know this is true because he has done this for me time and again.
Prayers are going up for blessings to come down on you, Rhoni
