I love cucumbers, in fact I am having one for lunch today! But it is store-bought.

Re: Garden Fresh Vegetables

Wow Cindy you have a huge garden! Way to go!!!

I have blooms on my squash, tomatoes, and bell peppers. Other than that everything is in slow mode.

My neighbors looks a lot better than mine. The soil here is horrible!!!

My fig trees are now putting on leaves and one of my pecan trees. Of course, it will be years before I see any fruit from them.

Wish I could have found figs this year, but no luck!

Our fig tree produces very little, the rest of our fruit trees do very well. Apple, peach, pear, we just seem to have great soil here. I am hoping we get some good berries this year. We also have some wild berries, and plums on our property. I love plum jelly. What part of the state are you in now?

Re: Garden Fresh Vegetables

I guess I should explain it is not just one big garden. We have a little one in the front of our house, the back pasture is broken up into plots.

I've never had a garden, and wouldn't know how to do one if I did! But I love to go to the Farmer's Market and buy fresh sweet corn. There's NOTHING better!

I saw the funniest sight last week while driving around. I was in a neighborhood and there was a house that had a row of corn on each side of the walk leading up to the front door.

I had never seen anyone use corn stalks for landscaping before in my life.

Trust me, we have our fair share of rednecks here in Texas. I'll try and go by the "corn house" this week and take some pics to share.
