We haven't had our first meeting yet, but things are in advanced planning stages. There is one other family that has agreed to meet with my family for worship, prayer, and Bible study. I am looking forward to it.

I really like the elements of both regardless of the stipulations that are, seemingly, placed on you in the larger setting.
Fellowship is a good way to be less formal and I think we do our greater work in that environment.
Cell groups are a great outreach for a larger church setting.
I'm excited about your new endeavor. I pray all goes well.

Ya know I have always wondered why Jesus looked so pale in the pictures I have seen. Since he lived in Israel in a desert like enviroment he would have a darker complexion and be healthy since he walked a lot. And being on boats at sea would be weather worn looking I think. And NOT have blue eyes. It really bothers me that hollywood seems to be unable to find actors to portray Jesus that aren't blue eyed.
oops my pet peeve, sorry PO.
P. S. James I think you look like Santa Claus.

I just finished reading this book called The Glorious Church. It deals with this home church issue to a certain degree. I was very surprised to find out it wasn't about home church over traditional church as it was about the structure of the Church in general. The authors basically advocate a hybrid of home meetings and congregational meetings. They place Christ as Head of the church and then elders to act as overseers of an assembly comprised of several home groups.

Sounds interesting. I'll look into that for future reference.

Here's the website. You can get a copy of the book for free via download. The book is written to simulate an interview with Paul. I didn't care for that, but I liked the book anyway.

Yea, a tanning booth, you could tell. And he had blue eyes didn't he? No maybe that was the Passion actor.
