No real problem exists over the use of "The Name" in everthing else done in the Church. Why then should there exist great controversy over the use of the "The Name of the Godhead" in water baptism?

Reminds me of a man that was being shown several ink blots on paper, and was asked what he thought each one was. For every single one the man said, "A man and woman kissing" The counceler wondered why he kept seeing that in each ink blot when the man replied, "your the one with all the perverted pictures"

Re: Your experience when you dropped "dress standa
I remember my reasons, when I backslid, it came from a heart deep in rebellion against God. A teenage girl tossed into the world, led to a downward spiral that ended with me in situations that only through the grace of God I survived. Thankfully God is merciful and faithful.

Not sure when and it was while studying the bible.
None that I can think of.

Um...Hun....the question was for people who actually held and believed in the dress standards. You've never been the white, long-sleeved dress shirt with a tie kind of guy...

Excellent point. Some people live their llife looking for offenses. There is a "holier than thou" judgmental spirit that gets hold of some people and their focus becomes a hyper sensitivity to anything that could possibly offend.
As I think HO mentioned she finds herself conditoined to instinctively judge other believers by a laundry list of how they look even though intellectually she rejects that now. She is not alone.
Now of course if past history holds true someone wil come on and claim that I am being judgemental in my statements. I would suggest I am relating facts not a judgement.
