All ya gotta do is watch us any given Sunday morning on the internet and you can see any or all three and maybe more. Hey we got a trinity in worship there. Well guess that does it for me can't believe in it anymore.

ALL COC churches don't allow musical instruments. If one does it is no longer considered a REAL COC and is ostracized by the COC as a whole.

Did you see my thread yesterday about what just happened in the Nashivlle area regarding this? A lady who has taught kindergarten at an area COC private Christian School retired because she was given an ultimatum that she had to stop going to her COC church to keep her job because her church had used musical instruments in a special service and planned on doing so two or three times a year in the future.

No, I didn't see your thread.

You were making the same type of argument the CoC makes for the NONuse of musical instruments about shouting to the Lord. Musical instruments in worship and shouting are not found in the NT, but you go to a church that uses musical instruments. So what is wrong with shouting?

Ooooops! You realize that one of CC1's favorite arguments is for consistency, don't you?

Sounds similar to some Pentecostal groups who disfellowship over non essential doctrines.

I never said there was anything "wrong" with "shouting". I said it was not part of the New Testament church and therefore should not be considered something essential to Christianity.

There are people on AFF who literally believe that if you don't "shout" with abandon you cannot be right with God. I am not making this up. They stated that before in posts on this subject.

I am also saying that the type and style of this emotional response to the presence of the Holy Spirit is a learned behaviour. It is part of old time Pentecostal culture. It also is many times more as a physical response to music than some kind of uncontrollable loss of control of ones body as they are overpowerd by the Holy Spirit.

I believe we are emotional creatures and should react with emotion to the awesome presence of God. However there should be no pressure for that emotional response to include wild behaviour that is simply Pentecostal culture and not Biblical.

Many Pentecostals act like shouting is an integral part of ones walk with God and if someone doesn't engage in it they are not right with God. That is when it is wrong.
