Re: Folks COMMANDED to Remove Ornaments.

I do think that overt displays of wealth can be a stumbling block to some of our brothers and sisters. That is one thing I don't want to do. And maybe that is one of the reasons the OP's taught that way, and that is scriptural. I really don't wear jewelry except for my wedding rings, as for watches, I have one but rarely wear it as I have clocks in my house, my car, and on my cell phone.

I think if we don't stay focused on seeking Him and the anointing He can bring, we will not find what breaks the yoke.

All these other issues become secondary and less important the stronger He becomes in our lives.

True PO, but what I think is at issue is one, the need for it, and two, how much is needed?

Necessary is subjective. Do you need AC? People lived without it for centuries personally I use it. Saying it’s not necessary doesn’t negate the fact that jewelry in Scripture is a positive thing not a negative one. I wear my wedding ring that my wife bought me, and my class ring that my parents bought me.

I did not even purchase what I wear so how can it be prideful?

I agree with you, in part. I think when the scriptures speaks of the man coming into the assembly -

Quote:
James 2:2-4 "For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; (3)And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: (4) Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?"
- He is again teaching the principle of moderation. We should not treat people who have more wealth any better than we do those less fortunate - although that is always going to happen. (lol)

It doesn't mean we shouldn't have nice things, dress nice, etc., it's just means we need to know how to handle it, if it comes our way. We can't allow these things to come between us and our relationship with God or man.

Yes, and I have heard people say that if some were living right they wouldn't be poor.

Oh I need it Bro, I only have it in the car and not at home!

It can be subjective-true.

However, on OP, or even Mods end, the whole line is thrown out the window.
