I know the kind of posting that went on under Jim's (and Mike F's) watch. It wasn't all sweet that's for sure. I hate put-downs and disrespect but what one person would call being disrespectful -- like not giving their post the attention or understanding or empathy they think it deserves (or their feelings either) another poster wouldn't.

It's hard to know where and how to draw lines but I think that we all pretty much know when someone has gone over the line. And some can get away with more than others. It's always been that way and always will be.
I get away with a lot of stuff because people don't mind it when I make fun of myself.

Just because we don't buy into your little idea and doctrine - does NOT mean we are not Apostolic or that we are liberal!
Most everyone on here baptizes in Jesus Names and believes that there is One God and speaks in tongues.

hahahaha...baby face(sorry the shock was too much for me I could not help the jab)

Oh come on Michael. It isn't the topic of conversation and I really didn't have the admins in mind in particular when I made the remark. Never even mentioned them.

Why did you make the assumption and jump to the conclusion you did anyway?

I want to state that I think admin is doing a great job within the forum guidelines. After sleeping, I have chilled a little!

I would like to see a strighter policy on personal attacks. I don't want anarchy to prevail.

I think some posters push the envelope expecting to be reprimanded or banned. When it doesn't happen, they push the envelope even further. And on and on it goes.

*You implied that some people can be mean and nasty with their posts and get away with it and some can't. At least that's what I thought you meant by your statement that "some can get away with more than others".

*I thought the topic of conversation was about being kind and gentle in our posts vs. being mean spirited. This applies to all.

*Your statement indicated to me that you feel there is an unfairness regarding the flavor or language used in posts, i.e. "some can get away with more than others".

I do not agree. That's all. I think we're all pretty much on a level playing field, unless there are things that I don't know about. Did you have some specific examples in mind?

Good luck GL, you have a rough road ahead. You are about to be descended on by a pack of truth hating wolves.
I guess I would be considered a more liberal poster but I don't despise Biblical Holiness, or the tenants of the Apostolic doctrine. But I don't like is when churches, groups, individuals give equal weight to their traditions or their interpretations and don't practice brotherhood.

You blanket accusation is an example of why this thread.

LOL! For some reason that little statement of mine really resonated with you. Well, that's okay. And you certainly have a right to your opinion.

Here's what I said.........

It was just a general off the cuff statement and it's a true one. It's the way it is. And we see it everywhere whether on the job or on a forum or in the home or wherever. That's all.

We're all on a level playing field - sure, but the judgment calls aren't always unprejudiced and if you say they are they you need to remove the sunglasses so you can see things a little more clearly.

Not every jot and tittle that a person writes has to refer to the original intent of the thread. Hello!

Ok, I gotcha now. I guess I misread the quote a bit last night, or at least that one statement seemed random, that's what I questioned. The way I read it last night sounded like sour grapes, lol.

I would agree with the above statement. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Well it's no big deal. I know how it goes. A person can make an innocent statement and it be taken the wrong way because of some sort of misinformation or misperception in the hearer or reader's mind and so they second guess the individual.

No sour grapes here. None. Glad I was able to clear that up for you.

I am getting tired of reading all of the anti-UPC posts from both liberals and conservatives. I think one can disagree with policies without getting hateful about it!

I'm in a bad mood tonight, ain't I? I better log off!

People might see more action from the admins on those types of posts if more members would use the little red triangle on the post to report the posts to the admin team. We can't read every single post on the forum. The ones that HAVE had action taken on them are mostly because a member of the admin team happened to read that particular post.

When I find something that I feel is across the line, no matter WHO posts it-- I will give an infraction for it. However I don't read every post in every thread. I just don't have time. People have to help us out here... we can't see it all.

I'm signing off now... have to work in church library today. Can't be late.
