It Looks like jewelry was being removed all over the place, according to these scriptures.
Well hometown guy, it looks like you have gotten your answer. The bible says to know them that labor among you. You don't have to be very spiritual to figure out that 80-90% of AFF is a little to the left of your local southern baptist church. They will go out of their way to find a hole in a conservative standard. They will make fun of good Apostolic singing and preaching if it does not tickle their ears. The Bible prophesied of a great falling away, there are many men here on this forum that used to believe truth. They use to have a love for truth. Now they have found this so called new revelation that it just does not take all that to get into heaven. There is no fear of hell fire anymore. It is almost like it is a joke. I could point you to so many pastors (men that I know and once respected) that have fallen so far away from where they were. It really saddens me to see this. I hate the fact that I am a witness to the great falling away. I would like a logical explanation from a man that once held to strong standards, and preached holiness, that now has no need for the standards he once held so dearly.
Gal 2:18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. I have cassette tapes of men preaching against hollywood, pants, make-up, television, video, etc. and now they have it all over their churches. Who changed? Did God change his mind? These men are the ones that changed. They allowed flesh to get in the way. They obviously quit praying. How do I know? Transgressors don't pray. I know of 1 man in particular that preached so strong, at a youth convention against video. Several years later I am walking around his General Conference booth, in the exhibits to find nothing but video. Did God change his mind? Oh I know, he grew in knowledge didn't he? What's really funny to me is, if I told AFF who this person is, 80-90% of you, would probably consider him to be conservative, and you would be far from the truth. Hometown guy, you are right. There is a lack of genuine respect for authority in the church today. Here on AFF most pastors are wrong if they hold any type of conviction. It does not bother me if someone does not hold to the same standard that I hold. What is troubling to me is the attitude that comes with it. When someone takes a particular stand that I would consider stronger than mine on any certain issue. It puts me on my face. I want God to examine me and let me know if I am wrong. I don't get mad and call that particular preacher a radical who has his own agenda. I realize that, HEAVEN IS CHEAP AT ANY COST.
To answer your question Hometown guy. AFF in my opinion is not Apostolic. If I would have allowed AFF to be my spiritual guide I would have lost every conviction that I have ever held, and that is sad. I am just hoping that 1 of my posts will show someone the errors of their way and get their feet back on the path. I realize that I am nobody. This is God's church. He decides everything, but he uses the hands and the mouths of men to get the job done.
So if you are a preacher that once preached 1 (or several) standards, and you now do not hold to that particular standard, (for instance, you once preached against television but now you have one) can you please give me a logical explanation as to why you changed your mind? If you can include scripture that would be great. Also, did this change come in prayer? If so let us know when and where you were praying that God told you to drop a standard. I am very interested.
Triumphant1, I give you permission to go first.
