Re: AFF apostolic or not?

By the way I don't wear a ring, a watch or any type of ornaments tie clip, cuff links, etc. but what do we tell the saints about these verses

Exo 35:22 And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing hearted, and brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold: and every man that offered offered an offering of gold unto the LORD.

Num 31:50 We have therefore brought an oblation for the LORD, what every man hath gotten, of jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and tablets, to make an atonement for our souls before the LORD.

Son 1:10 Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold.

Isa 3:18 In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,
Isa 3:19 The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
Isa 3:20 The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
Isa 3:21 The rings, and nose jewels,

Well hometown guy, it looks like you have gotten your answer. The bible says to know them that labor among you. You don't have to be very spiritual to figure out that 80-90% of AFF is a little to the left of your local southern baptist church. They will go out of their way to find a hole in a conservative standard. They will make fun of good Apostolic singing and preaching if it does not tickle their ears. The Bible prophesied of a great falling away, there are many men here on this forum that used to believe truth. They use to have a love for truth. Now they have found this so called new revelation that it just does not take all that to get into heaven. There is no fear of hell fire anymore. It is almost like it is a joke. I could point you to so many pastors (men that I know and once respected) that have fallen so far away from where they were. It really saddens me to see this. I hate the fact that I am a witness to the great falling away. I would like a logical explanation from a man that once held to strong standards, and preached holiness, that now has no need for the standards he once held so dearly. Gal 2:18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. I have cassette tapes of men preaching against hollywood, pants, make-up, television, video, etc. and now they have it all over their churches. Who changed? Did God change his mind? These men are the ones that changed. They allowed flesh to get in the way. They obviously quit praying. How do I know? Transgressors don't pray. I know of 1 man in particular that preached so strong, at a youth convention against video. Several years later I am walking around his General Conference booth, in the exhibits to find nothing but video. Did God change his mind? Oh I know, he grew in knowledge didn't he? What's really funny to me is, if I told AFF who this person is, 80-90% of you, would probably consider him to be conservative, and you would be far from the truth. Hometown guy, you are right. There is a lack of genuine respect for authority in the church today. Here on AFF most pastors are wrong if they hold any type of conviction. It does not bother me if someone does not hold to the same standard that I hold. What is troubling to me is the attitude that comes with it. When someone takes a particular stand that I would consider stronger than mine on any certain issue. It puts me on my face. I want God to examine me and let me know if I am wrong. I don't get mad and call that particular preacher a radical who has his own agenda. I realize that, HEAVEN IS CHEAP AT ANY COST.

To answer your question Hometown guy. AFF in my opinion is not Apostolic. If I would have allowed AFF to be my spiritual guide I would have lost every conviction that I have ever held, and that is sad. I am just hoping that 1 of my posts will show someone the errors of their way and get their feet back on the path. I realize that I am nobody. This is God's church. He decides everything, but he uses the hands and the mouths of men to get the job done.

So if you are a preacher that once preached 1 (or several) standards, and you now do not hold to that particular standard, (for instance, you once preached against television but now you have one) can you please give me a logical explanation as to why you changed your mind? If you can include scripture that would be great. Also, did this change come in prayer? If so let us know when and where you were praying that God told you to drop a standard. I am very interested.

Triumphant1, I give you permission to go first.

Mark, why can't a man wear a pair of pants that are as long as the ladies' skirts? Now, I can roll up my long pants and wade into the surf a bit - no problem with the standards police there. But if I purchased a pair of cargo shorts whose cuffs came down to the exact same position on my leg, suddenly I'm "not Apostolic."

Why?
Because the Bible teaches that a man should not wear that which pertaineth to a woman. Bad argument my friend.

Re: AFF apostolic or not?

NITW, if it's so bad around here, then why bother being a member here? You have obviously attained to a level of righteousness that 80%-90% of this board rejects. Do the Biblical thing, Brother. Shake the dust off your feet as you log out and don't look back. Good News Cafe is a site geared towards folks who believes things the way you do. Give them a try. Maybe you would find the kind of Apostolics you can be more comfortable with there. You wouldn't keep going back to a church you didn't think was right, would you? Why should this be any different? 1Cor is talking about starting up a site. Maybe the two of you could get together and make it a reality. Seriously. The world wide web is a big place. Nothing says you are bound to be a member of a site with so many people you disagree with. The answer is simple. Log out and walk away.

In thinking about this thread, it seems that Mother Alvear has stated it best. Can we not build on those things we have in common and leave the last word to God?!

Jesus prayed that we might be one...it might be profitable if those called by His Name would do the same.

We certainly are living and witnessing the great falling away
NIW. I have friends who left UPC that are now embracing the
same doctrine as Carlton Pearson. It's called " Universal reconciliation".

Many here are heading towards this same belief

Re: AFF apostolic or not?

Am I being asked to leave? Is that what the adminstration desires/ If so I will honor your wishes. JY asked me to join the FCF but I understand this has deteriorated into more of an anti or ex site than an Apostolic site. But I for one has been posting with many of you for years now discussing Bible topics and have always been pointed so I have not changed but if it is time for a complete change as suggested by Rico I for one will leave.
