Actually, the Hebrew word used was:
karar (käˇrar')
1) (Pilpel) to whirl, dance
a) whirling, dancing (participle)
So the scripture suggests that David spun around with all he had in him. Kind of like a spinning top. Of course he didn't have the Holy Ghost either.
