In Afghanistan we were, I understand the US is sending more.
In Afghanistan it was Canadians in the fighting zone, not the Brits, not the Aussies, the Dutch, or the Italians.



The deployment will keep U.S. troop level at about 27,000

As of July 12, 2008, there have been 811 coalition deaths in Afghanistan as part of ongoing coalition operations (Operation Enduring Freedom and International Security Assistance Force (ISAF)): 476 American, 110 British, 87 Canadian, 25 German, 23 Spanish, 16 Dutch, 14 Danish, 12 French, 12 Italian, 7 Romanian, 6 Australian, 5 Polish, 3 Czech, 3 Estonian, 3 Norwegian, 2 Hungarian, 2 Portuguese, 2 Swedish, 1 Finnish, 1 Lithuanian, 1 South Korean.

Baron, I am not disputing those figures but where did you get them?

Since May, the deaths of U.S. and allied troops have far outpaced the toll in Iraq. On Thursday, the toll in Afghanistan was 21 compared to six in Iraq. The International Security Assistance Force did not provide the nationality of a soldier who died in Afghanistan on Thursday

So far in July, there has been 15 killed in Afghanistan and 3 in Iraq

It was a US Soldier from Fort Bragg killed today.
