Hmmmm........
Acts 8:15-16
15) Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16) (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
17) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost."
Will you look at that? People that were baptized in Jesus name hadn't received the Holy Ghost till Peter and John came and laid hands on them!
What's to say that didn't happen to the Eunuch or Jailer? See how flawed your argument is?

The account for the Samaritans does not negate that if the jailer had died that morning of Paul's release he and his house were already saved.
You would have to add to the Bible to state that the jailer was saved and spoke in tongues.
You don't have to ad to the Bible state that the jailer believed and was saved.

The greek for Acts 2:38 prevents the "remission of sins" from being a result of one getting, "baptized in the name of Jesus Christ".

Re: ~Simon the Sorcerer & One-Steppers~
I think we all need to buy permanent black markers and mark out any reference to baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost, and speaking in tongues completely out of the Bible. Just completely eradicate any evidence whatsoever. That way, there won't be anything left to argue about. Well, we'd need a red one too, but no sense in getting picky about the color.

30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
33And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.
1399,
Do you see, one process in receiving salvation is baptism. The jailor asked what he must do to be saved, and they baptized him! LOL

I don't understand what it is you want me to do. Post which scriptures? You have already alluded to the Samaritans account and have quoted their experience.
I hope you're being serious and really trying to reach out to some one who is reading this thread. If speaking in tongues is really a matter of one's salvation, I would earnestly contend, with sincerity, for the souls of those I interact with-- using scripture alone to reach the lost, not scripture and conjecture.

1399,
If a person has repented and been baptized in Jesus name, but, he/she has never received the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in other tongues,is he/she saved according to the bible?

No.
When I read this account, the jailer was told to, "Believe in the Lord Jesus" for salvation. The jailer believed and was baptized because that is what believers do. But his salvation is hinged on, according to Paul, believing.

As far all I know and read from the Bible, yes.
