It is utterly ridiculous to assert that spiritually mature people ought to rub shoulders with deception in order to test their own solidity.
The same logic would dictate that godly, moral men ought to frequent strip joints to test their purity.
With all of the warnings in the NT about avoiding deception, many of them spoken by Jesus Himself, it is obvious that at least in this area, you haven't read your Bible much. And if you have, you have sure missed some things.
