That's a steal!

Is it a recent printing, or the 1973 edition?

I don't know. I can't bid until I set up a Paypal account.

DICKSON NEW ANALYTICAL BIBLE INDEXED EDITION 1966 KJV
End time: Jul-31-08 18:08:19 PDT
Looks like a 1966 ed.

Re: Study Bibles....

If the study notes are written by a man named Cleveland Norman the Bible is a steal at that price!

I looked for a "never been used" set and found the cheapest I could find was at $200 for the four volume set of workbooks.

Re: Study Bibles....

I like the New Living Translation, NLT and the Message Bible. NLT is similar lines to KJV, but the Message is somewhat of a paraphrase, but I like how it is written.

Re: Study Bibles....

The one he reads at work is an NLT I think. I'm looking for a study Bible based on a more literal translation than the NLT. Under consideration presently are the ESV, NET, NASB and NKJV. So, I'm looking for a good study bible with one of those translations. Remember this is a man who has never read the Bible, never attended church. The words and phrases that so many of us know so well, he doesn't understand. I've almost given up sitting next to him in church because he asks me so many questions. (No, I wouldn't really do that. Just my human weakness of frustration rearing its head.) I answer all his questions and the ones I don't remember or can't explain, I help him look them up. I'm trying my best to help his early walk so that he can be lead by God to be the spiritual leader of our home.

Re: Study Bibles....

As much as I'm a die hard proponent of a word-for-word translation I would say get him anything that he will actually read! If he doesn't have the ability to be able to read the more literal get him an NIV.

Good Girl, Sis. Amy,

Couldn't help but think about the verses in I Cor.14:34,35:

"Let your women keep silence in the churches; for it is not permitted
unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience,
as also saith the law.
And if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home:
for it is a shame for women to speak in the church".

Also 1Tim.2:11,12:

"Let the women learn in silence with all subjection.
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man,
but to be in silence".

That was a long time ago when the first churches began. But women are
now in Christ too, and there is no difference whether they are male or
female in the church. You would be in trouble today, wouldn't you!

Blessings,

Falla39
