Jesus is the one that taught (doctrine/teaching) the future leadership in his church being able to make binding decisions.
Do you believe everything that Jesus taught his disciples was only for them and we are not to obey them today? Or do you believe that we can just pick and choose which ones were for just his disciples? How do you distinguish?
I don't read anywhere where Jesus gave this authority only to that generation of leadership.
That kind of thinking leads one to believing stuff like - that was only written to the early church or that culture back then and is NOT for us today.
That to me is scary!
