Doesn't RR say in one of her novelettes about having certain things hanging on the walls in your house - like beautiful paingings - etc. its a way for the enemy to come in your home?
Maybe that's what happened to her 1st hubby - OR - maybe she was not what she claims to be -OR - maybe she was so holy she was no earthly good!

Hmmm.

Preachers who fall into sin are crucified here, unless they happened to be married to some woman who promoted strong conservative standards.

Isn't that interesting.

I wonder how vitriolic the response would be if a preacher fell into sin whose wife had gone liberal and started cutting her hair?

He would be ripped to shreds, and the poor woman would be petted and comforted to no end.

Does anybody but me see the discrepancy here?

I never cease to be amazed at the sheer venom that comes bubbling up out of the woodwork when RR is mentioned.

Her personal life and trials should play no part in this discussion ... that's where I draw the line ... I think this discussion was strong ... and on target when stayed on the doctrinal/biblical merits of the content in the books and its effects...

Mama ... please reconsider .....

We do not allow personal attacks.

You have been given an infraction for the above highlighted statement.

Is this necessary?

Agreed, I sorrow for all who suffer - But what do we do when someones teaches our children "the protection of her uncut hair" Where is the protection, or does the rain fall on the just and the unjust? I think it does. I serioulsy wonder/worry/lament over these kinds of teachings. There is now due to the effort of Sis Harvey a book promoting a "spiritual protection" supplied by uncut hair.

what happens when this false safety net is discovered through some terrible tragedy? I just think the whole thing is a much bigger deal than we want to admit. Just because someone espouses the oneness doctrine, does not mean they get a pass. Is this teaching not as wicked and scripturally demeaning as, say, oh I dont know "divine flesh"

They should if she has claimed that her uncut hair would save a lady from this sort of junk happening. I do think that her line of children's books are warped. There were quite a few warnings from professional reviewers of many of her books before they were ever offered.

Their warnings fell on deaf ears.

Understand, I believe very strongly that a man should have short hair, and a woman uncut hair. But the statements she makes are outlandish and dangerous.

Error begets error.

I truly have not been able to understand why PPH continues to carry these books. Other books that have been written I may not agree with but at least they fall within the "normal" expression of holiness and standards within the UPC and have scripture back-up (however you interpret the scripture ) but RRs books fall into the paranormal.

I would think that if pastors spoke up it would have some effect.
