Yes, I am struggling with that too. I've thought about this thread for days wondering how to phrase all this.

Re: Progress??
I am willing to become part of this "simpler" movement but only if I can retain the following;
1. High Def Home Theater / Saetllite TV
2. Computer with broadband internet connection
3. Air Conditioning
4. Microwave
Well, that is a start to my list. I am sure more later!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Progress??
But, did our grandparents or great-grandparents in some cases feel some of these same things when the car was invented or the first man on the moon took place?

Thank you!! I'm glad that someone else feels this. I feel alone like maybe what I am feeling is just some crazy thing but I am beginning to feel like everything is closing in. (No, I am not meaning the type of closing in that puts you in a nut house. ) But what I mean is that all people have to do to find out what I buy is check my credit card. ALL the UPC codes are connected to my credit card. I could not use a credit card (and therefore not get my airline mileage points) but would it actually do any good? Would I just be aggravating myself?? I am already aggravated! Our grandparents who went through the depression did not trust banks or government. Why are we so trusting??

Re: Progress??
I think alot more people feel it but don't know what it is. [ I'mnot sure if I know what it is] but most will brush it off or try to fit more in.For me I feel like i'm spinning my wheels but not going anywhere.Doing all this stuff but not accomplishing anything.

I don't know. Realisticially though, they still had their privacy.

LOL! Yes, these things are pretty great! So, is there anything we can do? Or should we just figure our life is an open book?
