Re: I Remember When...

Did anyone have a pegboard? The one that is like a desk with a chair?

I had a bride doll that was 3 feet tall? Scared you to death a night. Why would a parent give you a doll that big?

Re: I Remember When...

rrford...

We still use pressure cookers.

We put up 60 quarts of home grown tomatoes this year.

In this part of Arkansas there ain't much other than back roads.

I have one of my grandma's hand stitched quilts.

In the summer time my kids walk the rows of Purple Hull Peas picking the ones that are ready... but they don't make any money.

We made Pea Hull Jelly this year from the hulls of those Purple Hull Peas. Good stuff.

We will be getting a storm cellar soon hopefully and I am considering getting a reel type that you push. That way we have options when there is no gas.

Some of the old ways are still around. There is a lot of hard work involved but, if it is what you like, then every ounce of it brings life to your being.

We are thoroughly enjoying our slow steady trek back to the old ways of doing things and your post makes me more resolved to continue on than ever before.

Yea, especially in the cow pasture.

One time, when it froze, my dad turned on a hose and sprayed water all over the edge of the barn and trees surrounding the barn. The local paper published the picture - It was beautiful. I wonder if one of my sister's still has that picture?

Does anyone remember that little draw string beige sack of "gold nuggets" that was gum?

I remember getting one of those in my stocking every year as a kid.

I remember when...

You could eat without worrying if it would make your cholesterol worse or make your blood pressure go up or give you salmonella poisoning.

You could talk on the phone without worrying about cell phone waves in your brain.

You could take a deep breath of air without worrying about environmental toxins.

Are we going to die of stress if we figure all this out??

Did anyone's church hand out Christmas sacks?

I can smell it now - - it was a brown paper sack with an apple, orange and candy cane!
