Yes, but then again, it's not the obesity that is a sin. It's the gluttony. Obesity is the consequence of SOME that consistently over-eat.

Yes, we do. Thank you Jesus!

Did not say obesity was a sin - I believe my stance all along as been gluttony is a sin just as anything else you do that defiles your body.

Fact is, I don't remember telling a smoker they are going to hell. Never had to. We preach against it and let them know it doesn't please God. It goes without saying. I'm not missing his point at all. This is like a child getting caught, trying to complain about everything his brother did to get him out of the trouble he's in.

Some of you like blanket, tidy consistency and are afraid to approach issues one-by-one. A glutton, one who is given to vicious appetities and overeating, is surely in sin. I think they are BOTH sinning. There!

Right... this was a carry-over from my dialogue with Phelps, to which you commented.

If that isn't happening at your Church, maybe there's so much concern for consistency, that everyone if afraid to stand for ANYTHING, lest they be inconsistent.
Wow!!!! Wow!!!!

First of all I didn't miss anything....you are using one theory under which must apply to every single believer and it doesn't work that way in the real world.

People have to be taught,

Secondly I don't think you have a clue as what is happening in my church.

Re: May I smoke here??!

I agree that just because someone is labeled "obese" does not mean that are guilty of gluttony - according to the BMI charts my husband is obese because of his weight/height ratio -but he weighs more because he works out alot and we all know muscle weighs more than fat but it still puts him at obese.

Re: May I smoke here??!

Has anybody mentioned not being afraid of what destroys our bodies, but destroys our souls?
