Re: to gloryseeker, some interesting read about ti
28At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
29And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.
Do you obey the above law? every three years it was to be done.

Re: to gloryseeker, some interesting read about ti
But it simply means income right? And since the Holy Spirit has already reside with us...so we are always with the Lord.
And about the every three years I think it's the work of the deacons, if I understand it properly, it is collecting all the tithes that have been piled up in the storage.
But I'll check with it

Re: to gloryseeker, some interesting read about ti
But I think they are not talking only about tithing, I think it's more renewing their covenants, because in
Dueteronomy 14:22 Tithing you shall tithe all the increase of your seed that the field yields year by year.
Not sure, better check.
But about tithing alone, I'm sure

Re: to gloryseeker, some interesting read about ti
Read Hebrews 7
I think there are different type of tithes, one of them being of the priests/levi.
1 Peter 2:5,9 says that as Christians we are priest.
Malachi 3 is talking about the priest not tithing properly. which is the teacher's favorite verse and the more important verse about tithing
I say they are priest because
And the priest, the son of Aaron, shall be with the Levites when the Levites receive tithes, and the Levites shall bring up the tenth of the tithes to the house of our God, to the chambers of the storehouse ( Nehemiah 10:38).
And the Law and the Prophets are not abolished yet
So we can say that the type of tithe we are doing are the Levi's part. It makes sense.
What do you think about it?

OH, but I thought you said the law was still in effect???
It's talking about tithing, it says tithes.

there's only one tithe, but commands do do different things with the tithes on diiferent years, third year they shared it with fatherless, widows, strangers.
was the tithes in the chambers used for?
By the way are we not the house of God as well as the priesthood of God?
Were also sons of God, and sons are never taxed by the King.
The thing about the law is if your going to say were under the law then we must follow all the law on tithing. If there are different tithe in the law why are we not following all of it.???

please explain from scripture when and if "all" came to pass. Or was fulfilled as KJV words it.
When you do this, you will see the tithing doctrine falls like a house of cards on a windy day.

Re: to gloryseeker, some interesting read about ti
Jason
you must also take to note the "until the heavens and the earth pass away"
And so, TruthSeeker, All things in the law are under effect, and that thing about the three years, I'm not very sure, that's why I say I'm going to check it out.
All I was saying was that we are the levi branch as based on the 1 Peter 2:5,9 so it could mean that our responsibility on the tithe thing is on the Levi side, but if ever I'm wrong, then we should follow the three years thing.
