God is the only one that can keep us balanced. I think we can become discontented when we are in "wait" mode and not letting God lead.

What i see is, in past years, there was such an abuse of gifts and new revelations that many became overly cautious to the point that it was ALL word and no spirit.
Then, you have people who become hungry for more of God's presence and power and began to explore other options. in many cases, these people are so hungry they are very vulnerable and often end up worse off in the end
I have seen my share of churches split because of a PROPHECY or a prophet coming to town and saying God said such and such so I do understand the fear that people and preachers develop with all this "God is doing a new thing" stuff.
Even with all I've witnessed even first hand with this, I am STILL for prophecy and gifts. However, I believe it has to be under the confines of a good covering and establish doctrine or else it always proves to go fowl.
