In as much as others want people to see the bad side of UPC churches, I want to show people the good side. And no, its not the org I am defending, its the people. I think thats where others get confused, the org is not a "thing", it is people, God fearing, salvation seeking people. And we do have a heart, we do care and in despite what others have done, we hurt to hear the stories. But we also hurt to be included in the fray.

So true! But the org represents a body of ideas and philosophies as a whole. That is the problem. I don't know if it can ever shake that. There are some mighty fine Christian leaders in it whom I respect highly. However, most people outside the UPC don't get warm fuzzies from its reputation. That is just the reality. I hope it changes and I know some are trying really hard, but again, the odds are against it happening.
