That's how my mother talks about the birth process, Cindy. Just a vague memory. (I wouldn't know since our boys are adopted).
But you are saying the same thing that she says, then you are giving me hope! THANK YOU!! (actually I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel with our 19 year old. Thank the LORD!)

I want to move to another state in Brazil to pioneer one more area but I don´t know if our bodies can take it! I love to start new works.
I love to study Jewish history and teach those that are interested anything I might know. I love to share information.
My husband and I met in Brazil at a church conference! The first time he saw me he walked up to me and said he was going to marry me! I told him I didn´t know so much about that...he told me to pray that he did not need to pray about it for the Lord spoke to him I would be his wife...lol...6 months later (1972) we were married!
We are complete opposites! I could live in a jungle, sleep in a hammock and be happy...he likes his good bed and the big cities...He is a wonderful singer and musician and I could not tell you the difference in c or d...
I love to study, do research, and write letters...if he wants something researched he just tells me to do it for him!
I don´t have to have a lot of sleep...he needs his 8 hours if possible.
He is level headed, kind, slow to anger, forgives without carrying a grudge, has worlds of patience, sees good in about everybody, likes his things in perfect order...
His desk looks ready for a president to sit down well....my desk is clean but not always in order...
If he hears a noise he locks the house...(See he has good sense) I run outside to see what is going on! lol...
He won´t touch a gun but let me have one!
I love to camp out he had rather relax in a hotel somewhere...
We both enjoy traveling.
I am not a shopper...He loves to shop!
He is more settled and I love adventure!
He would be happy to have a service, sing from the song book and bring a sermon...
I like new things (ducking at this moment) gesture choirs, sign choirs, lights, plays, skits or whatever as long as it is done in sincerity to glorify Jesus.
I might forget to pay the light bill to buy a box of food for some hungry family…he would pay the light bill first…
Several times our young people from different churches have written plays and act out our life as comedy!
Oh, yeah I love AFF but if he does go on a forum it is CAF…
So long live our differences of choices that is probably what makes us so happy!
We admire each other!
We both like people...enjoy church and love the Lord.

I loved reading this post!! After meeting the two of you, I can attest that this is all true. Sis. A. is all adventure and excitement; he is the more even-keeled logical type. I just loved both of you, and thank God for your differences. Eddie and I are as different as night and day too.
About me (us)........
We pastor in Jackson, TN and have churches in five other locations in the U.S., plus about 43 overseas. We have been married 30 years and met at JCM in the seventies. We have two kids, Ashley (26) who just got married this year, and Zac (20) who is a sophomore at MTSU.
We LOVE to travel. I'm writing this from an airport lounge today, in fact. I love missions, and my husband endures mission trips. I love food in every nation. When we travel, I have to test all the local food. Eddie has to stop me from buying things off the side of the road in the little stands. He eats all the safe, ordinary things.
I hate getting up in front of a crowd, and will do almost anything to avoid a microphone. But I LOVE one-on-one stuff, and getting together with friends, or even strangers (pre-friends, I like to call them). Eddie is not nearly as social, even a little shy. But put him in front of a congregation, and he comes alive. He's an awesome teacher/preacher and even has a TV program that broadcasts in about five states. Knowing his personality, you would know that it's the anointing of God on him - being able to get up and speak like he does.
God has blessed us tremendously. I thank Him for a nice house, nice cars, debt free except for mortgage, and I hope to pay that off soon.
I am not looking forward to retiring. I don't think Eddie will ever retire; he's too focused on doing God's work to think of quitting just because we reach a certain age. We have a great church and people who love God with all their hearts. I love being a pastor's wife!
Even though I'm not officially employed, I do all the personnel work at church, all the financial reporting, bill paying, etc. I am a numbers freak, so I totally enjoy it. I don't mind being "behind the scenes." Even though it doesn't seem too spiritual, God gave me a gift for math, so I will use it for Him.
That's my life in a nutshell!

My husband and I were both previously married so we eloped. LOL But seriously I wish we had don't a real wedding even if only a small one. I do regret that. We hope to do a vow renewal ceremony on our 15th.
|
Neither of us were married but our whole reason for going to Vegas WAS to elope. However, everyone caught wind of it, so it turned into a regular wedding.... Still small but very nice. Over 20 people ended up flying out besides us. We absolutely did NOT want a small church wedding and <horrors....>, a church basement reception. LOL

Girl, the boys were much harder than the girls. After all they were MEN!!!!!! LOL
Now my relationship with my children is wonderful. It's amazing what a difference few years can make.

Re: Getting to know you
Im praying that dealing with other teens in youth ministry will help to ease the dealing with the teen years of my own kids. One can only hope..lol.
And perhaps my kids won't seem so awful compared to what we are dealing with now...lol

Yep right smack dab in the middle of Gladewater and Hallsville is Longview. Harligen is a LONG ways away! LOL
And probably by the time I am done raising teens I will only have enough brain left for it to be a "vague memory"
So far my boy is my easiest. He is yet a teen however.... 2 yrs! yikes

Re: Getting to know you
So where do you live, and do you like it there?
Phoenix, AZ and I like it most of the time.
Are you married?
Yes, 20 years and 4 boys later. I think we might even still love one another.
If so how did you meet and what was your wedding like?
We meet for the 1st time when I was 3 and she was was a few weeks old. Don't remember that meeting for some reason. We started dating when I was 17 and she was 14. We broke up a lot over the next 6 years. She was actually engaged to another guy when I asked her out again in February of 1988. We were married in October of 1988 and been together since.
Our wedding had 300 guests and was nice but if I had it to do again I would have eloped. The only thing nice about the 6 months leading up to our wedding was the engagement picture we had made and then our wedding pictures. The pain of dealing with my wifes later father was really NOT worth it.
What do you do in your church?
We help to plan special events at our church and anything else we may be asked to do.
What are some of your hobbies and interests?
Cooking, movies, reading, hanging out with friends, annoying my kids =)
