I have been blessed with a great pastor, and I still appreciate him even though I no longer attend the church that he leads.

My question mostly revolves around why the other offices are seemingly diminished in our generation.
Indeed... every office holds a blessing of further perfection for the church. It makes one wonder what further words of perfection are still out there for the church to experience.

I guess I am blessed, because I and the men I fellowship are strong believers in the operation of the five fold ministry.

There are people gifted in the entirety of the five fold ministry working in conjunction with one another and they are each a part of the local congregation?

How exciting.

I don't think that is exactly what I said.

So every congregation needs as members, every part of the five fold ministry?

How exciting.

No sir...

I was just drawing out that, while many people will make such statements as you had before it usually still falls along the lines of what we have been discussing in the first place. There is a pastor... full time... and the other ministries are allowed to come from out of town and minister from time to time. The crux of the discussion is how did this one ministry become the oen that is up front, full time and local while the others are relegated to traveling ministries.

(and I do rejoice that you experience the ministry of apostles, prophets, teachers & evangelists in your church)

However, I must warn you that this is a dischordant note in the great symphony that is fixing to be played.
It's just the truth. I have been blessed with 3 wonderful pastors. My currrent pastor I believe was sent just in time. Thank you Jesus.

But, to me, when there is a thread such as this and a post is made that simply states... I love my pastor etc...

It tends to seem, on the surface, to be making some sort of statement that those having this discussion do not.

Now... I would never expect that of Cindy... But that is often what can be derived from such a random post in the midst of a subject such as this one.
Not my intent at all, I will bow out.

No need to do that at all.

The wording of my post was for one purpose... to exclude you from the particular assumption I was speaking of.

I was stating that a post like this often means something... but I would never expect that from you...

In other words... while some may mean this as a cut I "know" you well enough to know that this was not your intent.

Please accept my apologies for any misunderstanding my poor wording may have caused.

Ahhhh, okay thanks. I was not offended, just thought I was misunderstood.
