I guess truth is only truth when it comes from a certain direction. That IS sad, indeed!

If I understand what I have heard about Jim, he was FOR the liberty and freedom in posting even if folks didn't like what that meant. Sandra, am I off base with that assumption?
No your not, he was very liberal in many ways. He wanted a place where apostolics could come and discuss their differences. Jim was a debater in high school he won 17 of those in his debate class to the lord.
Jim loved to stir things up! lol.. I am my brothers sister

I KNEW it!!!

I rest my case to all the nay sayers who think AFF has morphed into something that Jim would be ashamed of!

Re: JP Don't Forget

again... because it seems so very lost in this discussion.

the quote in question that led to this thread's creation, was said by what most folk would view as a mod/lib on JP.

It wasnt said by one of JPs resedent conservatives.

Re: JP Don't Forget

Please accept my apologies for my ignorance here. I've only been on AFF since last Fall, and I never really cared to pay much attention to any names or personalities in the UPCI. So... who is Jim Yohe?

I've gathered that Sandra is a relative of some kind. I found an article that Jim Yohe wrote for 90 & 9 about five years ago, but that's the extent of it. Can someone enlighten this poor soul?

I LOVE meeting new people and I'm very curious about this fellow.

Be blessed.

Jim Yohe was a UPCI minister. his father started the Light House Ranch for Boys and Jim worked there as well as being a full time evangelist.

Jim started a forum much like this one called Faithchildforum. FaithChild was really the first of its kind and was a really amazing place where libs and cons clashed in debate and Jim held it all together and there was also a webpage with lots of articles and such.

It was really awesome. Then suddenly Jim died. he was only in his early 50's (or late 40's) at the time and it really was tragic.

Faith Child (or FCF) kept going for quite a while but eventually fell apart and was replace by NewFaithChildForum by Vicky. That place ran for some time but eventually it died out. The refugees from FCF/NFCF decided to create a new forum that would have 5 owners with equal power so that there would be a good chance of the place continuing. That new place is AFF....

Jim was the visionary that came up with the concept that is AFF.... well, AFF isnt exactly what FCF was FCF was better in my opinion but none the less, without Jim, we would not have AFF today.

hope that helps. Others could say more about the GREAT Jim Yohe.
