Most of them have no life outside of gossip and 24/7 internet forums. Might be a good thing?
Just my opinion!
Dumb Post!!!! I have a big life--I homeschool three children, take care of a household of 6, manage basketball programs, horseback riding lessons, music lessons, 3 meals a day, clean house, laundry, taking everyone to the library once a week, teach a primary class on Wednesday nights, and manage to fit in coffee with my friends on an occasional basis.
We ARE nerds in our household, and we are PROUD of it. The nerds are the ones with the bigger checks. Usually when I'm online, I'm also teaching math or science, I have the news open in one corner, following a conversation on AFF in the other, carrying on a conversation with my mother in the kitchen, and I MIGHT even have a movie open in another corner of the computer. Oh, yeah, Facebook is usually open as well. Even when I'm not paying attention to any of it, my laptop is usually open, so it looks like I'm on all the time, even when I haven't looked at it for hours.
Right at this moment, I've got coupons I've been clipping to my left, Sunday school material in front of me, the forum is open, Sarah's math is to my right, which I'm about to grade, and I have one child getting ready for church while the other takes a bath. I'm only using about 10% of my brain power at the moment.
Jeff and I go on dates to Barnes & Noble and we are perfectly content to sit next to each other looking through books and magazines, sipping on coffee.
And why on earth would you put nerds and gossips in the same category? It's usually the stupid, ditzy people who love to gossip and prate on about every little thing they hear. Stupid, or just plain evil. Either way, that has nothing to do with being nerdy.
