Yepper - but remember that the spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet...this goes for those discerners and words of knowlege people. You have to be careful that it isn't about your agenda - but about God's. One way to tell is based on the word....there is a Biblical way of removing troublemakers from an assembly and it isn't through means of a discerner or words of wisdom by someone who who have a secondary gain from using the gift.

I think Stephanas hit on something with the "controls the finances..." I had a family member who was the bookkeeper for a church that he had attended for over 30 years. After the new pastor got settled in he was told to find some place else to attend.
Seems the new pastor is happy to keep his own books.
Stuff like this happens all the time in pentecostal church - pastors get on a power trip and have the attitude I am pastor and you do what I say. This mindset is from the Dark Ages when the catholic church would kill you if you did not follow what they believed - this type of mindset is paganism at its best but as long as you run around the church, jump the pews and speak in tongues you are ok - pastor's (not all of them) forget they are to be "shepherds" not dictators. I would just go to another church and God will deal with him either now or in eternity.
I am trying to understand this After 13 years of membership at my church, I developed degenerative disc disease. This condition made it difficult for me to sit or stand for prolonged periods. Because of this I would oftentimes have to leave services immediately after the preaching, therefore missing the altar call. I was secretary and C. F. O. of our church, my husband was a minister in good standing. Well one day Pastor called and said that he thought that I shouldn't continue attending. I suggested that I could maybe start coming after worship service, that way I could be there for the preaching and the altar call. All he said was he thought I shouldn't keep coming. I told no one at church about this conversation. I simply did what Pastor said. This has left my spirit broken.
To this day I do not know why I was asked to leave.
Peace, Sinatra
