The wounds we receive in life can be similar in nature. Sometimes we just need to air it and see how it matches up (or doesn't match up) with the experiences of others. If nothing else, we can see that if others were able to heal from similar wounds then we can have more confidence about our own situation and possibly heal more quickly.
