Re: Does the Holy Spirit lead you into all truth?

There is an old saying that you can lead a horse to the water. but you can't make
him drink.
In order to be taught, that person must have a teachable spirit. They WANT/DESIRE
to know TRUTH! The teacher or person that is teaching may not know whether the
person being taught has a teachable spirit, but God knows. The understanding of the
person being taught may not be opened IF they are not open to TRUTH. We must be
open and honest to believe and receive as a little child. We must become as a little
child to be converted. Trusting and believing

Blessings,

Falla39

E.g., does one party of the AFP debate want truth and the other party not want truth?
Don't any of the Yesses want to take a stab at this?

I was one of the "Yesses" but I should qualify that. I was really answering the question, "Does the Holy Spirit lead you into all truth?" The "Yes" response I selected, however, though the closest one to what I would answer, doesn't capture the meaning of my yes response.

When you created the poll, you created the "Yes, he DID IT perfectly..." response and the "Yes, sometimes..." response. I felt the first one most closely described my belief, but not completely. And the "Yes, sometimes..." is completely inappropriate, IMO.

The "Yes, he DID IT perfectly..." answer suggests (to me) that truth is a destination, or some pinnacle of spiritual revelation that we can somehow obtain or attain in this life. And while, I believe the Holy Spirit is our guide, to lead us into all truth (as the Scripture states), I don't believe it's a destination. It's a journey... a lifelong journey... a matter of "pressing toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus"... that should lead the submitted saint into deeper revelation and deeper walk with Jesus, who IS the Truth.

So, because I am filled with the Holy Spirit, and I'm walking in Truth (Jesus), I'm pressing toward that mark. Not as though I had already attained, but forgetting those things which are behind I reach forward unto those things which are ahead. I'm not there yet. I don't have full understanding. For now, I see through a glass -- darkly. But then... face to Face with the Truth, when my body has been redeemed and my salvation is complete, then YES! The Holy Spirit will have led me into ALL TRUTH! Praise God!

So, sorry! I'm gonna watch the AFP debate from the sidelines. I have my own views, but I'll keep them to myself.

God bless!

All truth today? Don't think so. That scripture was spoken to the apostles, they had all truth.
