I have no idea what your last sentence means, can you put that in dummy language?

How do we know Windows 7 will be better than Vista (other than almost anything is better than Vista)? What is different about Windows 7?
"Closed" is referring to Apple trying to "protect" the user from the hardware. Apples way or the highway is a phrase commonly heard among developers.
When things work, they work... when they don't it is MUCH harder to diagnose and repair then on a PC.
I also cannot stand the one-button/minimalism so popular with Jobs and Apple designers.

Windows 7 is FAR superior to Vista (which wasn't that bad to begin with in my opinion). The many beta's that have been release over the past year are already far more stable then Vista's own release candidate.

When does 7 come out? I need new computers for my office and some of the stuff I do has to be done on a PC, so I was considering getting a mac and running both, but maybe you can convince me that this new system will work. Maybe.

The fact that Al Gore is on Apples board of directors is a little irksome as well. LOL

Re: Sitting at work.......

And even though we have a larger % of our PC laptops (Lenovo's purchased during some of their worst years for quality) go down with hardware issues, we still have problems with our macbooks. The most common is the battery no longer charging and CD's no longer ejecting.

Did not know this, but that would settle it for me

I have a Toshiba laptop and it works fine(but I do have a techie son to save me from myself).

And I have friends that are MAC all the way, but I've never been tempted.

Re: Sitting at work.......

I am holding off on a new laptop until windows 7 comes out, I have though about transitioning to a mac book and may yet do so. They make it attractive because you can buy it preloaded with virtualization solution and both OS X and whatever flavor of windows you want.
