My son applied the stripper and I went to Walmart and got supplies. I come back to him just finishing peeling the paint off the door. He said the stripper wasn't working good enough, so he peeled it off. Ok, not a problem.

So I sand. Yeah, that was a great idea, even if it is outdoors. I sanded the front of that dumb door for over an hour! The door wasn't finished when it was painted, so I have to sand white paint off of it. The stripper won't get it off. It's like, molded into the wood grain.

Ok, maybe I just should stick to things I know about, but this isn't rocket science. I'm not the brightest crayon in the box, but my IQ is 3 digits long and doesn't start with 0.

Anyway, we were hoping to move tomorrow, but the weather says there is 60% chance of rain. Figures. I mean, we haven't had rain in over a week while I've been busy painting, so let's just have some when I don't need it to rain!!

PO, I'm not even sure that if all of us lived close enough to help, we'd be able to accomplish everything that needs to be done for HeavenlyOne. H1, I am so sorry to hear about your nightmare! But I can't wait to see your pictures

That is one job I feared I would get. Fortunatly I went Airdale Navy and was a Aviation Hydraulics Mech.

But I did learn to draw that brush out and get nice even straight brush marks.

Re: Need advice about latex paint

I'm finishing up the cleaning in the new house and will take pics today and try to post them. I'll also be moving my kitchen and bathroom stuff today. Was going to move, but it's supposed to rain all day and night, so tomorrow will be the day instead.

PO, you will appreciate the artwork! LOL!

PO and Margie, some pics for you to enjoy...

This is the wall in my son's room that I ended up having to pretty much cut out and mud and sand before repainting. The next pic is a close up of what I found underneath the paint...the glitter glue. The next pic is the wall today.

Re: Need advice about latex paint

This is a pic of the bathroom cabinets. I'm NOT doing anything to it, although I think it's awful.

This is a picture of the rainbow on my son's wall AFTER I put stripper on it and wiped it off after letting it set for about an hour. You can see where I tried scrubbing the letters off without success. The pic following is how it looks now.

You can see in the top pic what the ceiling and trim looked like. She didn't care what it looked like after she was done.

Re: Need advice about latex paint

Here are 2 pics of the kitchen cabinets. You can see the old green paint that was on the wall and the new green paint I put on it. You can also see that some cabinets won't even close because of how much paint is on them. The cabinets will be stripped to the wood and refinished when I get time.

Re: Need advice about latex paint

Lastly, I need help with wood floors. The first pic is before scrubbing with a brush, water, and Mr. Clean with Febreze. The second pic is after I'm done. I can't see a difference. This is the floor in my room.

Well, goodness! Why didn't you post this in the first place? I would have recommended gasoline and a match!
