Sister I hope I can set your heart at ease... We preach against this stuff like you could not believe, and usually hear a a couple "Preach Hard" and " Tell it like it is" Does that bring back nostalgia for you?
God Bless!

I will have add those spike heels always raise my blood pressure a few points, two of the hardest things to preach off people are open toe and high heel shoes.

On the planet, AQP? I love ya, girl, but this just is not true! LOL!
Not directing this at either of you, but I remember many posts where we have been criticized for having long, stringy ponytails, looking like a wash woman, etc.
Which is it? You can't have it both ways? Do you want us to look like trash bags or can we buy our clothes at Nordstrom's, Macy's, etc.? Ya'll are cracking me up!
I'm going to go put in my Bubba teeth!

In my experience, it's a mixture of the two extremes.

Must be meant to be that you can't see them... I can't see any Saved women wearing such "Harlot like footwear."

At conferences.
I've never been one to say that Pentecostals look slouchy. For the most part, the ones I hang around don't. I think the ones who do, would, even if they weren't in church.
But at conferences? Oh, yeah. I've never seen such flamboyance any where else.
I was working in the registration room at a conference a while back, and when some of the women would leave the room, we'd all look at each other and burst out laughing. Some of the outfits and hairdos were just unreal.
I love beautiful, quality clothing. But when people are snickering behind your back, or turning their heads for a second look just because you look so flashy, that's not modest, imo.

If Anheuser-Busch ever came out with more "Real American Hero's" commercials I am sure a "Mrs Too-much-hairspray-wearing-UPC-woman" would be a real leg slapper in the funny-because-its-true category.

Randy,
The problem with your scenario is that I was in the middle of that in the bar scene and in the rodeo functions we attended. Have your ever been to a specialty western wear store? - My goodness - high dollar and awesome stuff! I bought grey eel skin leather boots for just one night of dancing, Randy! Please, you can't talk to me about this! LOL!
We dressed to compete!!! Something new every time and we had to out dress everyone else - it was a game and we loved it! LOL!
So for some of us who have been around - it's not a UPC thing - by far - it's not! LOL!
