Letterman made a public apology last night to the people he works with, and also to his wife who he said would have a long way to go to forgive him. I'm sure it was something he was "told" to do, but at least he did acknowledge the seriousness of his mistakes. I don't ever watch him anymore, but just happened to be flipping through the channels when this came on.

And Letterman wasn't married at the time ... he didn't commit adultery. Fornication, yes, but not adultery.
If he wasn't married, his wife wouldn't need to forgive him.
