Rules are conducive to good order. Every group of people be it the church or the fish and game club will have rules.
We err when we elevate some rules to the status of "word of God". And then enforce those rules to the hurt and possibly spiritual death of people.
Murder is subjective, there are a few churches and pastors in the movement that have murdered and mutilated a persons chance at eternity because they/he felt that they had to line those people up.
When Jesus just wanted to make them fell loved, safe and cared for.
Like in everything, we need to have and exercise wisdom.
It is sad that that particular commodity seems in such short supply.
