Let's move along from this and keep the discussion going on grace.

Awwwwwwww.......but it was turning into such a GREAT fight!!
But is this really a discussion of grace, or is it a discussion on, "Don't get carried away with grace"?

Stories are generally used to illustrate the point. Much like life. The vast majority of poeple are not conrete thinkers and are more easily taught through an illustrative process.

Then we should be VERY careful to choose stories that only illustrate our concept and that cannot be questioned of illustrating our concept.

I don't see how it can be a discussion on both. Grace is completely efficacious.

Yeah, but you took this great story and did a monumental, mega U-turn on it!

Re: Lot's Revelation of Grace
I think that upon realizing what grace really is that this will inspire us to do good works. For in grace is the goodness of God revealed. Upon seeing his goodness how much more should we be inspired to do good, not to earn our salvation, but because of our salvation.

ABSOLUTELY!!!
The teaching of grace frequently suffers because of our fear that once people understand how great God's grace really is, they'll just go live like the devil. But the TOTAL opposite is true. The more I understand God's grace and just how all-covering it really is, how abundant it is, how complete it is, the more I desire to be close to him.
There need not be any fear of people getting "carried away" with God's grace. Grace inspires. Grace draws. Grace covers. Grace envelops. It drives us to live like warnings and fear never could!

The example used is a marriage. If based on love, the man does not have to continually beat the woman into submission with commands to cook, clean, have sex, and be faithful nor does the woman have to continually beat up the man with commands to work, help with the children and other tasks, have sex, and be faithful.
