Re: What I have learned from AFF

Isn't it odd that just a verses later, Jesus is calling Peter 'Satan'?
Look out now, some might think you read the Word of God.

Ah well, they sit next to you on Sundays sometimes.

Re: What I have learned from AFF

The main body of Peter's discourse on the day of Pentecost was about the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ,ACTS.2:38 was the altar call, and it was and is important, but the other points in Peter's Pentecostal sermon are important as well.

Re: What I have learned from AFF

There are people who I disagree with strongly,do I condone all they believe and do ? certainly not,but they are people whom Christ died for.
If He thought enough of them to die for them,I should treat them kindly, because my master laid down His life for them.

Now, Brother Joe... I didn't even realize I was "ranting" on you. My apologys if your toes feel stepped on.

I have no problem with anything you have posted. I've never commented on anything you said that I know of. And I have no problem if you "think opposite" of what I think, if, in fact, you do. No sir, if you think opposite of me, thats not a burden in the least. I afford you the right to believe as you feel you should believe. And respect you for what you believe. And, would hope you would afford me the same curtesy, if in fact, you knew one thing about what I believe or don't believe.

One thing I won't do, brother. I would ever say something like "Whoa unto you ye hypocrites" to you. Especially since I know nothing about you or what you believe.

People here seem to be like minded? How encouraging. I believe that is a trait God is looking for in His people.

Not just from the latest posts...but the latest posts confirmed my statement. The post was great in which the writer posted his true gut feeling on several things...which he should be applauded for. But the ones applauding him for writing his true feelings are the same ones who are persecuting others for doing the same....debating is fine....but the constant stabs and pack mentality isn't.....and they probably began their own journeys to escape pack mentality. I'm a solo type person...Lone Ranger...don't need the kudos....but I despise the pack mentality no matter what direction it comes from....

My apologies for referring to anyone singular as a hypocrite....I was trying to make an overall point...again I apologize.

Well now after all the comments about acts 2:38 being the plan of salvation, let me ask this question: just where did the people ask Peter how to be save? Peter just told them the what they were seeing was that which was promise by the prophet Joel.
Joe 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
Joe 2:29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
Joe 2:30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
Joe 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
Joe 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
In explaining this Peter went on to accuse them of crucifying the lord, they were then overcome with guilt and ask Peter how they can rectify their wrong. The answer was to repent. Plain and simple. Baptism is the seal that we perform before God just as circumcision was to Abraham. Romans 4:10-11. We are them promised the gift of the spirit of God when we beleive, it is automatic. Speaking in tongues was not the sign of recieving the spirit of God. Just my humble opinion.
To say one has not received Gods spirit because they have not spoken in tongues is putting your self up as judge and we are not to judge. I have known many that had more of Gods spirit that did not speak in tongues than many that speak in tongues. The word says we shall know them by thier fruits not if they speak in tongues.
Maybee if we quit drawing a line in the sand between trinitarians we would have more luck showing them the oneness than telling them they are lost.
