Anyone have a great Mexican resort they have personally experienced?
Must be family oriented - no topless beaches etc.

Yeah, good luck with the no topless thing in Mexico! We stayed at a family friendly place, but the beaches are public. There was some topless stuff going on there, but mostly everyone ignored it, except for one really redneck American guy who stood right in front of her snapping pictures while his wife and kids stood a little ways off. I wanted to slap him, but the topless gal just smiled and posed.
We're going this year to Cancun and staying at the Westin. I don't know if it will be any different.
We're doing the West Coast of Mexico - cruise thing this year. I haven't been further down that coast than Tijuana before. Cabo, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta.
My wife has this "thing" about never having ridden a horse along a beach before, so that's one thing we're doing.
I didn't see any topless women at Cozumel, but that's not really "resort" style lodgings. Mostly cabins and such, but some nice beaches.

My husband got terrible food poisoning in Mazatlan and had to be emergency "flighted" back to L.A. to a doctor there. I don't think I'll ever get him back to the western side of Mexico, although it was nice there.
We did a jungle cruise, where you ride a flat bottom boat through the jungle and they cooked a Mexican meal over an open fire. It was really cool, and I ate the same thing he did, but he got sick and I didn't. Just be careful!!

How? By being you, and not being your husband?

Gonna remember that... "flatbottom boat - Beware!" Thanks. We've got one excursion planned to go to the "jungle" and visit the canopy. No boat rides mentioned. I really do not need a med evac.
Did you go swimming in the river on that trip? Maybe he swallowed some water that you avoided?
It was a nice hotel. We went off season, so the weather wasn't great, and I can't say that I'll ever want to go back to that part of Mexico, but if you are going to go -- that's a good place to stay Saw no toplessness.
I much prefer Hawaii.

Great for families, but very rustic and VERY non-commercial. I wouldn't recommend it for kids younger than maybe 10. We did the cave snorkeling, zip line and "skycycle". All were great.

Nope, no swimming. He actually thinks he got the food poisoning at the resort eating some chicken tortilla soup, but I hate to think that because it was a really nice place to eat. I prefer to think he was poisoned in the jungle - it sounds much more exciting. LOL!
