How do you propose that God will speak to you? A feeling? An angelic visit? Through the microphone in the pulpit (which will no doubt never encourage you to "leave")?
Personally, I believe He has already spoken. The truth of His words compel us to make these decisions in life, supported by prayer, and in tandem with our God-given ability to reason. Therefore, your mind is the real battlefield, and your performance there will ultimately determine your destiny.

That analogy would work with a Jaguar. It appears an elderly man brought out the wagon analogy because he could relate to that. Ya thank?
I believe that ultimately if a person claims to have a true relationship with God, they will recognize and understand that voice or leading of God's spirit in their life. That direction can come through the Word, prayer, music, a dream, worship, a person, etc., etc.
Your mind can at times be a battlefield. I can agree with you on that. We do have the ability to reason. What we should never do is reason with carnal means, but spiritual. That is where I draw the line.
We have been in situations where people have advised us to leave where we are. Words, such as, "God wouldn't want you to endure that!", "It doesn't make sense for you to stay!", "That situation will never work itself out!", etc. etc.
And the still small voice - "I will see you through. Stay where you are. I will bring deliverance."
I weigh my decisions in prayer and that is where I ultimately receive direction. He hasn't failed me all these years and what He has spoken has come to pass. I take a person's criticism and advice with a grain of salt. Although, some have given good advice and it was a "confirming" factor in prayer. We must be sensitive to things things.
Our God-given ability should always be driven by spiritual motives and not carnal. Hope that is your point. I've read some posts and threads where the idea seems to be, "Whatever decision you make, God will support that." I haven't found that to be true in my life. So, I will do what I'm doing and what I know works for my household. My husband and I walk in agreement on that, so we have no worries.
