In fact, I love to wade through waist deep snow. But those ice storms... ugh! You folks have far more mettle than I.

Actually, yesterday's snow storm came as a pleasant surprise to some. We celebrated my bride's birthday this week, and then headed over to Western NC to do some skiing. We beat the traffic mess on I-40, which later resulted in a total shut down. Slopes were great (except for the frozen ruts dug out by the snowboarders!)

Have you heard our total? We had had a packed house -- 118 I think was the number.

When I lived in Owosso, Michigan, they got ALOT of snow - deep, deep snows. I would call my work and tell the boss I'd be there as soon as I could get my car out of the parking lot, which sometimes took a half a day.

One day we got a huge ice storm like this one you've got. Well, I was used to those. So I went to work. And called my boss from my desk and asked where HE was! He laughed hysterically.Said, "I can't believe you can't make it in when we have a little snow (18" is NOT a little snow to me!), but you can slide in here in spite of an ice storm. Only someone from Ohio.............."

I used to live in MI too, and used to drive to Owosso to the Aldi grocery store, I was used to stocking up once a month there, and that was the closest to where I lived.

They have so much more snow than we do here in Indy. I couldn't get over the fact that 4-5 inches fell almost every morning, and the school buses just kept rolling on. lol

The first winter, they got over a foot of snow on New Years eve (1998) we all had our faces plastered to the windows watching and so glad we were safe and cozy in our house. I get a phone call about something at church that night. I couldn't believe those crazy people get out, go to church in that much snow. LOL

What I didn't know, and was amazed to see was how fast they clear the roads there. They were prepared and had them cleared fast... I ventured out and couldn't believe how clear they were.

It takes blizzards or something to shut MI down, they are too adept at getting it cleared off and cleaned up. I would assume they have to.

Indiana has its fair share of snow, but nothing like Michigan.

FB, I moved to Owosso because I went up to visit my friend Jan and lo and behold, the Blizzard of '78 hit! Now THAT snow shut things down up there. But then, that snow shut things down all over

By the time things were cleared enough for me to be able to get home, I already had found a job. So I just stayed for another 3 1/2 years. GREAT time!! I LOVED Owosso

Yeah, you guys HAD to be packed in like sardines in that building. I know you'll be glad to move in your new auditorium soon!!!
