Mt other fond memory was the soda fountain in every drugstore, There was a drugstore 2 blocks away too. ( But they weren't on Every corner......)
You could go in, take a seat on a stool at the counter and order a flavored coke.
I remember my girlfriend introducing me to a cherry coke.
This was a treat and not done very often.
