I feel badly for him. He's asking forgiveness and relying on a god who doesn't even exist. I can only hope and pray that he'll find the source of living water instead of a dead fountain which offers no real hope. I thought his speech was well practiced and I certainly accept his apology........though I don't really need to. He didn't do anything to me except illicit extreme disappointment. I pray for the reconciliation of his marriage and the restoration of his relationship with his wife.
However, outside of Jesus Christ, he pretty much has a snowball's chance of anything significant happening from here on out. He really needs Jesus!

he didnt do anything to me and thus doesnt owe me anything.
As with anyone else who walks God's green Earth, I hope he works to heal his family and I wish him the very best.
As with most of the things people tend to focus on, I just dont see anything to stand around and gape at.
I hope his wife and kids find healing and peace. I hope he can put the pieces of his life back together.
but he owes me nothing.
Good post. I agree. I didn't need to hear it, and didn't watch it.
It's always so odd that the secular world which is overtly supportive of immorality in many cases reacts with such prudish shock when someone is actually immoral.

maybe when your iconic presence is a "branding" worth $100,000,000 every year of your professional life...and your reckless, premeditated actions have blown a 95,000,000 dollar hole in it....your handlers step in (moaning and cutting themselves over lost revenue) and tell you to have a press conference and tell people how bad you feel.
Celebrity pays big because the "Public" is the buyer of the images iconic trinkets. If the current image is that of a serial adulterer who brought great shame upon his family, the image is seeking the forgiveness of the buyers of a false/fradulent image.

Our society is just a bit hypocritical. It is a form of idolatry. Give us a popular figure who goofs, intentionally or otherwise and now we have a scapegoat for our own sins.
Folks talking about Tiger doing a year of therapy before returning to the course and doing what he is quite good at.
Hey. did we make Bill Clinton do a year of therapy before returning to something he was quite bad at?
What is really hilarious is that guys like Tommy Lee of Motley Crue can do the same thing and be a hero.
Maybe they should trade careers. Either way, the whole social value system is just messed up.
People need the Lord. Tiger, Tommy, Bill, Me and You.

I dunno, it seems to work for a lot of people. (Yeah. I know. "Seems to work". )
I agree, Timmy. Buddhism has helped and bettered many people. It's core values are nearly identical to the principles of Jesus. I believe Jesus will honor the following of his principles regardless of the system someone is in. And Buddhism has been a stepping stone for many people to ultimately following Jesus Christ.
So personally, I was glad when he said he wanted to return to the values of Buddhism. He is on a spiritual journey and I'm glad he's starting somewhere.
I didn't see it, I heard it on the local radio this morning.
Poor Billionaire crying the blues cuz he got caught.
How someone could claim to live in the lifestyle of the grace of Jesus Christ, and make a statement like this, is unfathomable to me. You are making a blanket accusation without one single ounce of any meaningful evidence to back it up. Typical Christian cynicism. Sad. I sure hope you never do anything wrong.
Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy.
My opinion he is not liking the fact that so many are not loving him at the moment. He cares more about being famous, being praised and lifted up. It must be just eating him inside to think that so many just want him to go away. If his golf game slips at all he will lose even more. He will make a grand return to golf, my Vegas bet would be on the Master's, and if he were to win the Master's he would be lifted up even higher than before. If some how his 19 ladies were a struggle to overcome and he prevailed. If he were so strong between the ear's as they praise him for on the golf course then why did he need a piece of paper to say he was sorry? I simply want to pray for him, his wife and Kids for healing and happiness.
