Not braided, but broided...it simply means intertwining the hair with gold and jewels.
It is not a sin to braid the hair or to put it up...

I think it's always scary to read the Bible, fitting it to what we do, rather than reading the Bible, expecting it to challenge us and make us change our ways. I think Pentecostals always lean back on that "truth" saying - refusing to admit we may have some things wrong.
How can broided mean intertwined with gold and jewels when the scripture says:
"...not with broided hair, OR gold, OR pearls, OR costly array."
Plain grammar show that it would need to say "...broided hair, WITH gold, OR pearls, OR costly array"
Also, the greek word is Plegma and it means "what is woven, plaited or twisted together; of a net; of a basket; of BRAIDED HAIR."
